Sprouted Daal Pulao /Biryani

Ingredients

  1. Sprouted Moomg Dal-1 Cup

  2. Basmati Rice-1/2 Cup

  3. Onion - 2

  4. Tomatoes-2

  5. Garlic-3-4 cloves

  6. Ginger-1 small piece

  7. Potato-1

  8. Spices-Salt, Coriander Powder, Garam masala as per taste.

  9. Whole spices-Cumin Seeds, 1 Big Cardamom, 1Bay leaf ,5-6 Black pepper whole, 2 Cloves

 

Method

  1. Wash Daal and Rice thoroughly. Soak rice for 10-15 minutes.

  2. Heat the oil in the presser cooker and add whole spices (Cumin seeds, Big Cardamom, Bay Leaf, Black Pepper, Cloves)

  3. Add the finely sliced onion in oil and cook till brown.

  4. Add finely chopped tomatoes and cook till tomatoes become tender.

  5. Add salt, 1and 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder, 1 teaspoon garam masala and stir well

  6. Add pieces of finely cut cubes of potato and mix well.

  7. Add daal and soaked rice to the cooker and stir gently.

  8. Add 1 and a half cups of water and stir well.

  9. Close the lid and cook till 1 whistle and switch off the flame.

  10. Let the steam self-release, before opening the pressure cooker.

  11. Serve Hot with curd or raita.
